About Zora Evangeline

Praised by South Florida Classical Review for her “vivacious” playing, harpist Zora Evangeline holds a Bachelor's degree in Harp Performance from Temple University with Elizabeth Hainen, Principal Harpist of The Philadelphia Orchestra. Zora frequently performs with professional orchestras across the nation including the New World Symphony, North Carolina Symphony, Allentown Symphony, Maryland Symphony and the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, and has attended several prestigious music festivals including Orford Musique, the National Orchestral Institute + Festival, the Brevard Music Center Orchestral Institute, and the Bowdoin International Music Festival. As a soloist competition winner, Zora has performed as a soloist with the Brevard faculty-student orchestra and the Temple University Symphony Orchestra.

Zora received the 2024 American Harp Society Ruth Papalia Scholarship Award has also attended several harp festivals including the Lizotte Academia, Colorado Harp Colony, Maine Coast Harp Institute, and Curtis Summerfest Harp Colony. She has performed in masterclasses with some of the most internationally recognized harpists including Nancy Allen, Judy Loman, Emmanuel Ceysson, Sivan Magen, Irina Zingg, Mariko Anraku, and Katherine Siochi. Zora also enjoys studying vocal jazz with Najwa Parkins and has studied with Grammy Nominated harpist and composer Brandee Younger, performing her music and the works of other notable harpists including Alice Coltrane and Dorothy Ashby on her graduation recital in January 2026. 

This fall, Zora will continue her studies at the Peabody Conservatory on a full ride and living stipend as the recipient of the prestigious Pathways to DMA Fellowship, which aims to expand opportunities for those historically underrepresented in the DMA. Outside of music, she enjoys running and is currently training to participate in this year’s annual Broad Street Run in Philly.
